About

Airy the Canary, mascot of the Daryl and Shirley Jenkins Foundation, encourages education and learning about carbon monoxide (CO) safety with an emphasis on the lifesaving value of CO alarms.

Project Airy is an annual CO awareness effort during Fire Prevention Week in October targeting elementary school-aged children that promotes the importance and functional awareness of having both smoke and CO alarms at home and away.  Locally, we offer a free CO alarm distribution event annually as part of this project at one of our local fire departments.

Airythecanary.com provides online teaching resources to participate in Project Airy or to teach CO safety any time of year in the classroom and/or at home.  Follow Airy on Facebook for updates and additional information.

To learn more about CO, alarms, and additional ways to stay CO safe at home and when traveling, visit the Jenkins Foundation and follow us on Facebook.
